Balancing a C11 on an NEQ6 pro

What’s the best setup for this . Balancing with two 5kg weights using an extension bar or three 5kg weights without the extension bar. I would be grateful for advice. Regards Philip

Philip,
For my spectroscope setup with a C11 on the NEQ6 I didn’t go for an extension due to clearance issues within the observatory.
I ended up using five counterweights.
No real issues, the mount handled it well.
I also had to push the OTA up the dovetail and clamp due to the weight of the spectrograph hanging on the rear.
Hope this helps.

The mount will perform much better with more weight closer to the head. I only use the extension if I need extra weight adjustment when swapping over visual gear mid-session like binoviewers that add a lot of weight.

This is what it looked like!
The second image shows the special clamps used on the dovetail to secure the OTA.
