*I may also be interested in an equitable part exchange of a Lunt 60mm PT Double Stacked unit or an 80mm single or double stacked PT unit.*
Reluctantly I am considering parting with this most consummate Solar imaging/viewing system which may be one of the most impressive and complete solar imaging setups in the country.
At its heart is an immaculate Lunt 152mm solar telescope with a brand new 152mm Double Stack unit and lots and lots of extras for someone interested.
The system has a hard to find and expensive Hinode guider which works beautifully and an Airy Labs Scintillometer, which may in fact no longer be available to buy new at all. It includes the B3400 straight through blocking filter with brand new replacement blue/green glass and many other items.
Don’t imagine it’s cheap but the main scope new and with the double stack would be around $22.5k. It will also have a significant wait time too but you can get this now at a significant discount. It is capable of extraordinary images -despite my own feeble attempts, using the ASI 174.
I drive the scope with a top of the line Eagle 4 computer all setup for imaging and even a power regulator to ensure a 12v battery never drops below 12.4v which keeps everything running. I use it on an AZ-EQ6 Pro with rings and dovetail along with an ASI 174
I won’t separate the Lunt scope and DS unit or sell any supporting devices separately before selling the main scope, but the scope and DS can be sold together without all the accompanying bits which I could sell separately afterwards. If your budget will stretch though, it is simply perfect as is and will be even better value as a complete package.
The scope and DS together will not be sold for for less than $17500.
It is a reluctant sale but I have good reasons and that has nothing to do with the quality of this setup which is second to none. Only respond please if you are genuinely serious.
Note the OTA is pretty heavy. I can put it on the mount on my own but I won’t say it isn’t a bit scary to do so!
I might be happy if nobody comes forward but I feel I do need to try.
