Wanting a scope when you don't need it.

What is this stupid thing that happens when we want a scope that we don't need? I have half a dozen scopes that cover every conceivable and practical use I have for astronomy, yet I get pangs of lust for expensive 5inch APO's.

It’s called aperture fewer. I am infected too. I have refractors with 160, 130 (x2), 102 and 92mm opening as a result. Not the worse disease to have though

From my point of view, completely normal, indulge yourself (if you can afford it), life is short.

Storage space is becoming an issue - especially since my Daughter is moving back in in a few months.

Really want the 11inch RASA, but I have the 8, and its doing fine. Would love a C11, but my 12inch Meade ACF works pretty well (but weighs a ton)

A 130mm refractor would be great, but my 190mm Mak Newt is going to be hard to beat at 1000mm and F5.3.

Maybe I will just embrace the GAS

Now stop talking nonsense ..of course you need it otherwise why would you want it...I suspect other people with very negative attitudes have been putting such rubbish in your head... now I know that I want a 130 ASKAR because I need it... now sure I have three scopes now operational but there are so many objects how can I get them with only three scopes...fortunately I can fit two more in the Big observatory and two in the small observatory but that still is only seven...and how many objects..just do the math you need more scopes.
