Would you say that I have a Plethora

Decided to take inventory of my eyepieces ... and realised somehow at some point my purchases got out of hand.

Takahashi: HI-LE2.8, HI-LE3.6, LE5, LE7.5, LE10, LE12.5, LE18, LE24, LE30, LE50
TAK-10UW
Pentax: XW3.5, XW7, XW14
Televue Ethos SX3.7
Televue Delos 8mm
Televue Radian 8mm
Televue Panoptic 15mm
Televue Panoptic 19mm
Parks GS-5 7.5
Zeiss A-10
TMB Supermonocentric: 6mm, 10mm, 12mm
Baader Hyperion 8mm
Docter 12.5mm x 2

How many eyepieces should someone keep in their collection

I would say 4 is probably plenty Hans. So you have to get rid of 23. I'll take the Parks thanks mate. I'm not greedy.
Cheers, Richard

You can have the Parks, free, if you want it. I purchased it cheap to give it a try and it is a good eyepiece.

Yes, I know I have to cull the herd but I am a hoarder and procrastinator.

I would say that is a great selection.

It only gets out of hand when you need a spreadsheet to track what you have.

Oh I couldn't do that Hans. It wouldn't feel right. But thank you for the kind offer.
Cheers mate.

You start off wth 2 or 3 and then it becomes an obsession and / or a collection

Here’s my stash purchased over the last 5 or so years

Televue Ethos 4.7mm SX
Televue Ethos 8mm
Televue Ethos 13mm
Televue Ethos 21mm
Televue Delos 17.3mm
Televue Delos 10mm
Televue Delos 6mm
Televue Delos 4.5mm
Televue Type 2 Paracorr
Televue Panoptic 24mm
Televue Panoptic 27mm
Televue Apollo 11 serial no.186
Sold my Delites ( 7mm and 18.2mm ) 2 years ago
Orion 20mm 70deg centering eyepiece

To be honest I haven’t used half of the above eye pieces for 2 years ( La Niña part of the reason)

My favourite eye pieces are Ethos 4.7 SX , Ethos 21mm hand grenade, Apollo 11 and Panoptic 24mm

I’m more of an Astrophotographer these days but it is enjoyable to image from the Dome in the backyard ( laptop in the study ) and observe the same object with my 12” Goto dob in the front car bay ( Bortle 3 skies )

Grandkids love observing with the 12” dob during the summer holidays

I suppose I’ll have to down size my collection in the near future ( unless one of the grandkids takes up the hobby later on )

Cheers
M

That's not a plethora, it's a nicely balanced collection.
