Lunar Eclipse Tonight

Unexpected clouds forced my to employ my astro-sniper skills to get a few shots in the gaps- these ones are about 5 & 15secs.

And an attempt to merge 2 exposures…

Taken a few minutes apart- combined in Gimp. Wasn’t quite as I had hoped but there was literally seconds of clear sky to make it happen… ain’t no re-do’s on this one

Great work David! We were fortunate to have clear skies. It was fantastic to sit there & watch for the hour of the shadow departing the moon.

Thanks all for your comments. A great sight to see even if it was a little limited with the clouds!

Thanks Ray. This is the first time I’ve done the full capture stacking and processing all with ASICAP /ASI STUDIO. I figured since I only had 5-10 frames to work with (sucker hole captures). it wasn’t worth the normal as!3/Regi6 way. But have to say I’m pretty happy how it came out under the circumstances.
