ED100+ focal reducer??

Hi all,

thinking of buying an ED100 for AP use, however I would like the option of using a focal reducer as well. I will be using my Canon 350d to image with. Which focal reducers are you using? The Celestron 6.3 sounds attractive but can you use the full frame, or do you need to crop the edge? What about the WO .8 reducer?

Mainly interested in whether the full frame is useable, whether the faster FR causes CA to show up, or any general comments on usage.

cheers
Gary

Hi Gary,

The TeleVue 0.8x Reducer/Flattener RFL-4087 is suited for focal length 800-1000mm and it delivers a nice flat field up to a 35mm frame, so it should be perfect for your telescope and camera set-up. The WO reducer is quite ok for shorter focal lengths but I doubt it work for 900mm. From what I remember the Celestron 6.3 is only sort of working for webcams.
