Hoo 7293

I'm having a bit of a crisis in confidence using the ASI2600MM,
"Should I have moved from OSC to Mono?"
"Have I got the right camera for me?"
"Did I get the right filters?"
blahhh blahh blahh...

Yikes! I think the bad weather has done this to me.
Anyway, after a lot of rain, some NGC7293 shots.
EdgeHD 8 + 0.7 reducer

35 X Baader 7nm ha
37 x Baader 7nm Oiii

I think it came out OK, but the thought of getting 3nm filters has me intrigued.
Pixinsight for the heavy lifting and some PS for tweaking.

Mark, is this your first light with the 2600mm? I am contemplating buying this camera some day. Sometimes we are our own worst critics; your image looks great! Detail is excellent. Personally I prefer outer gas to be red, however colours are to everyone's personal taste. Well done.

Hoo

Hi Stephane,
Not my first light, but the new camera has highlighted problems with the existing telescopes - so I've been busy trying to correct those issues and of course... the rain!!
The good old edgeHD8 has been great though, so I will be using that while I try and cure the others.

bahtinov mask

Thanks Dave,
It was my first time collimating the SCT with a tri-bahtinov mask.
Turned out to be fairly easy.
cheers!

Great start Mark. You've got all the technicals sorted as Dave says but that one needs 20+ hours of integration of your best subs to get "all" of it. Indeed as Stephane wisely points out we can be our own worst critic. If you have a go at one that needs far less integration you will see, I'm sure, you have a solid grasp. Have a squiz at Stephane's or Alex's Orion, I'm sure you can give us another to call WOW
