Sun image from Melbourne 18 October 2022

It wasn't until 5.30pm this afternoon that the clouds finally cleared. We had about 30mins until the sun hit the roof of the house so managed to grab this one full disk image. For a "quiet" sun with only a couple of active regions, it is still quite impressive. There is a good filaprom in both the north west and the south west.

Full disk Ha image taken with Daystar Solar Scout 60 double stacked with Lunt 40 etalon, ASI178MM camera and 0.5 reducer.

There are some nice features in the southern region at the moment - well captured. Thanks Peter and Clare.

Thanks a lot John. Yes, there is still a lot to see even during the quieter times. Good to have a couple of days with some sunshine
