Last night I thought I would try out my new configured set-up, yep all looked great, balanced, yep, OK, lets go.

So I fired up the Gemini and went to my first star, bloody hell not this focus problem again, so I tried some other stars, nothing, not the slightest glimpse of light.

What have i done i thought, ah, It's busted, did i knock it, or have i put something on wrong i thought, bugger.

Then i closed it down, and took out the EP and discovered that i had left the plastic dust shield on the end, any wonder i couldn't see any light.

I was imaging for 15 minutes last night before I realised I still had the Hartmann mask over the front of the scope

It happens to all of us Leon.

I was trying to do some lunar imaging through the ED80 one night and was wondering why I couldn't even see any light through the viewfinder, after all it was a full moon !
I was trying for ages to get it centred.

Well silly RB had left the solar filter in the scope from the previous Sunspot session from the day before.

Ah yes, the mistakes we make.

Spent about 4 hours one night in my film days, carefully guiding on a couple of targets only to find I had forgotten to load the film. Methinks I got sidetracked slightly.

It happens to every astronomer, when I brought the 8" back from the states I took 26 exposures , only to realise there wasn't any film in the camera

You guys are making me feel better about my first post on these forums....The mercury transit photo I posted a day before the transit (just a sunspot!). I got up early and went to work late because I was out imaging that morning too

We all make dumb mistakes. A few of mine

Forgetting to switch to bulb after taking flats and only finding out after an eight minute exposure that was only a few seconds.
Not setting ISO back to 200 from 1600 after test shots. Have you ever seen a fifteen minute exposure at ISO 1600 at F/2.8?

Forgetting to connect the guider cable to the mount

and so on

Remember if you are not making mistakes you just are not trying hard enough!

You had stars last night????

It was cloudy and drizzled light rain here all night, and we are only 20 minutes away from each other! Dang!

Yeah, almost every time I use a Moon Filter I accidentally leave it in and wonder why other objects are so dark and hard to find

I also have a tendency to leave the front cap on the ED80 after taking Darks and wonder why the Toucam can't see what I just GoTo'd.

Ken, there were a couple of stars, trust me, not many, but i was only aligning so it was basically shooting in between the clouds, so to speak.

But tonight looks like a good one coming up.

Nearly left the Hartmann mask on again tonight, Geez you would think that I learnt from last night.
This time I was side tracked by some wonderful sky, it was a lovely clear night in my area.
