I completely forgot to list for the four moons - shadow ingress, shadow transit and shadow egress events. So, yes a big project over an extended period to catch each event.
The shadow ingress and egress events are quite interesting to observe. I have observed all of these events, but they do require good seeing. For the shadow ingress event, the shadow forms an ever increasing notch in Jupiter’s limb. Eventually the shadow detaches from the limb and you have a normal shadow transit. The shadow egress will happen in reverse. These events are the easiest with Ganymede’s shadow.
