Sun images from Melbourne 19 August 2022

After 6 days of miserable weather we enjoyed a very pleasant morning in the sun and imaging the sun.

AR 3078 has certainly been the lead player in the last couple of days but this morning AR 3081 was more active when we were imaging. There was quite a flare at one stage. We are yet to process all the videos but here is the full disk, prominent active regions and north west and north east proms. There wasn't a great deal of prom action today.

Full disk Ha images taken with Daystar Solar Scout 60 double stacked with Lunt 40 etalon, ASI178MM camera and 0.5 reducer.
Close up Ha images taken with 72ED, Solar Scout Quark and ASI178MM.

Great set of images Peter and Clare. It was too cloudy for me to set up a Ha scope. Cheers John W.
