Corona Australis NGC 6729
I love this part of the sky.
Some time ago I did a 6 panel mosaic of this area.
But this time, put all of my time into the 'best bit'.
I combined Ha with Red, O3 with blue, and S2 with green.
Had no idea how it would work, have to try these things.
LRGB, Ha, S2, O3: 30 x 5m each filter. Total integration 17 hrs.
And I love the result

The final image looks very nicely colour balanced Peter. It's an area known for its dust and reflection nebulosity though, neither of which are visible through NB filters, I know there is a little Ha in a few areas...but Im intrigued to know why you decided to collect the OIII and SII
I'm struggling to see where the three NB channels have accentuated or added to the nebulae, what are your thoughts?

Hi Mike
It's most annoying that you keep us on our toes
In all seriousness, after years of studying the technicalities, I tend to just make it up...or wang it
.
Anyways after looking at the Ha O3 and S2, the data revealed there was something to see, but how to use it?
I tried a few ways of using the data and by combining the Ha + Red, O3 + Blu and S2 + Grn (at the stacking stage), seemed to give the best result.
A classic case of 'suck it and see'.
Cheers Bro

Agree with big Mike re: dust and reflections but still like the colors and NB probably accentuated the details.
I played with blending NB in color channels from home because of massive LP and it's satisfying

That is an amazing result Peter
I'm 100 percent visual, but images like yours make me consider dipping my toes into astrophotography one day!

Hi Joe, thanks.
All those years ago I looked at Corona Australis using binos. I was blown away then.
