Up for sale is my Skywatcher AZ-EQ5 GT mount. I'm the original owner, and it's been kept in my lounge room at all times unless observing. It's had a very quiet life and has never been offsite. I mostly used it for visual in AZ mode, later moving to EAA in AZ mode, and then finally EAA in EQ mode. The mount runs well in both configurations and polar aligns really well with Sharpcap Pro in AZ mode. Had I have known how easy it was to polar align I may have switched to EQ mode sooner when I started down the path with EAA. Mind you, in AZ mode I was able to get long enough exposures stacked up to see far more than I ever saw visually under Bortle 5-6 skies.
The handset is running firmware 4.39.20. This mount is in mint condition and comes with everything pictured including original packaging.
I've read that it's difficult to align two telescopes in AZ mode on an AZ-EQ5 but I found that I was able to align both of my scopes to each other relatively easily during the day.
This is a great mount for someone who might be considering a lighter setup that's capable of handling more than just a small scope. I originally purchased it for just this reason, but have recently had an opportunity to upgrade to a heavier mount.
As far as I can tell, this mount sells new for $2200 - $2400 but it doesn't look like there's any stock to be had in Australia until August or later at the moment.
Asking $1400 plus freight / insurance at buyer's cost if you're not local. I'm also happy for a buyer to drop over to inspect prior to purchase.
