An interesting looking scope

UnitronItalia Gladius

Probably the most naked telescope design I have ever seen. Also based on a massive F25 Dall-Kirkham optical system, the 12" has a FL of nearly 8 metres!!

While the sample planetary images at the bottom of the linked page are good (I think Iceman spoils us around here too much ) it is the lunar images on the page that really impress me

A very interesting design indeed and the lunar images are quite special as well. The exposed mirrors are a bit of a worry for me, how much dirt, dust and whatever else is going to collect on it.

Awesome.

Paolo is a remarkable lunar/planetary imager. His work is among the best in the world, and his scope is certainly a unique design.

Very portable!

He's also coming out with some specialised planetary cameras in the next few months.. watching with great interest!

Interesting design - absolutely. Practical - uhhmm....

I'd be constantly petrified about the mirror's safety I think. I do like the mount though!
