2.5" Power Linear Focuser from Megrez 90 FD

2.5" Power Linear Focuser from Megrez 90 FD. In very good condition. Dual-speed 10:1 heavy duty focuser.

Purchased for a project, but I have since bought a Moonlite focuser.

This is of very sturdy construction with a very nice 10:1 focusing action, however it is best suited to visual use without placing excessive weight at the eyepiece (eg. camera or bino-viewer). Reason is that mechanical support for the focusing tube is provided solely by the rack and pinion dovetail.

I have measured the base using a vernier caliper and it measures 76.00 inside and 88.00 outside where the focuser fits to the telescope tube.

It does not have the same build quality as a Moonlite or Feathertouch. Best for visual only with a diagonal and eyepiece. The focusing tube is not fully supported so will flex under the weight of a camera or bino-viewer, particularly when the binoviewer axis is at anything other than a vertical orientation.

$190 posted in Australia.

Thanks for looking, Graham

Graham, can’t see in the photos but does this one have the thermometer in the single speed knob side? (Hope not)

Hi Lewis,

no, no thermometer in knob.

I've been using it this week to try out, and it needs a tweak. I want to have it right before sale,

cheers ... Graham
