6th Feb. Clouds hampered observation today again. I managed to get a couple of images - one at 540 nm to show the sunspots (there are two tiny new spots near the western limb); the other image is at Halpha wavelength to show a large prominence on the SE limb. I measured this prominence to be around 109,000 km high. Both single exposures with a Canon 550d camera. Thanks for viewing.

The newly named AR 2942 was the region I commented on regards the "sparkling diamonds"
