Colourful moons, 25 April 2007

Montage of two moon photos from tonight - imaged through smoke from burning off in next valley. Top taken about 8pm with moon reasonably high, and the bottom imaged about midnight, just before it set (redder because of more smoke in light path).

Colours are as they appeared to the eye - adjusted camera exposure until the image view matched the eye view.

Fujifilm Finepix S5500, Top: 1/30 sec @ F/3.6, ISO 400; Bottom: 1/13 sec @ F/3.6, ISO 400. No adjustments to colour etc. Lower image rotated to match orientation of upper; montage created in Photoshop CS2.

Nice shots! Looks like a total lunar eclipse but it's not a full moon!
