Leonard Tonight

I packed the gear into the car and drove an hour out of Sydney with a mate to find some slightly darker sky’s. After a bunch of issues with the gear, and then after getting up and running having to completely relocate I managed to get a couple of shots about 10.30pm - here’s my contribution:

Edge800 with Hyperstar and optolong UHC filter
10 livestacked 30sec exposures
Crop and stretch in PSexpress

I also had my 10” sct setup for some visual - core was clearly resolved and brighter area of the tail. But no colour nor the longer fainter sections of the tail were visible through the eyepiece.

Cheers

David,
An excellent result! Well done mate.
The length and complexity of the dust tail is clearly evident.

Thanks all! It’s my first attempt imaging a comet and certainly learned a lot!
