Help with

I am using SGpro, skywatcher mount, Sharpstar telescope, ZWOASI533 MC camera, 120mc guide camera with Prima Luce for Autoguiding. For some reason after using many times it now wont plate solve?? Technically I'm not very good it's all above my head. So please if you can help (keep it simple) Thanks for your help in advance.

Have you setup the plate solver yet? I believe PlateSolve2 is the easiest to setup. Once you have selected PlateSolve2 in the platesolver selector you must install the star catalogs as per the instructions here and here. Also make sure your telescope image scale is correct and you should be up and running.

The only other thing I can think of is the exposure is too short. Perhaps you could try installing a local ansvr and see if that works.

Hi Dianne,

It would help to know what errors you're seeing. Can you describe what failures you're encountering?

For what it's worth, I always suggest installing and using ASTAP and the H18 star database. It's a local platesolver that's faster than anything; it platesolves in a couple of seconds, but requires accurate focus.
If you're confident of your focus, then ASTAP is the solver to beat.
