Marc, you would have to wonder.

The World is falling apart, Fires, Floods, Landslides and a Pandemic on top of all that, plus the misery to so many people, It dose make one sad.

You can see how steep unstable terrain can easily become a disaster after a lot of rain and then a tremor. Could even happen in a small way here in the escarpment but luckily no one has houses up there.

I think this has been happening for centuries it is just that now we know about it instantly wherever it happens. Natural worlds are always falling apart and regrouping. Not to say the increase in rain in some tropical areas will not make it worse.
