The FLI ProLine PL11002 arrived via UPS two days earlier than
expected!..shame I'm going to SPSP for best part of 4 days
tomorrow :-( Not enough time to learn how to treat her right :-(.... I've
got a bit of a learning curve in front of me for when I get back I

The chip in the PL11002 is the Kodak KAI11002 (as in the SBIG STL11002M) so it is an Anti Blooming Gate 35mm film format 11 mega pixel chip with 9 micron pixels.

The camera has selectable download speeds that mean a full frame image bin 1X1 downloads in as little as 1 sec even in slow/high quality mode the download is still only about 14sec.

The image is downloaded from an internal buffer within the camera and not directly from the chip.

The Chip and electronics are sealed in chambers purged of air and filled with noble gas.

The camera can cool the chip more than 60deg below ambient air temp so it is great for warm climates.

Now to workout how to use it

60 degrees is the first thing I noticed when I read through the web site... that would be amazing, none of this 25 degrees I have to live with on my SBIG!
