Deep Sky Stacker Question

Can anyone tell me if you can stack JPEG images in Deep Sky Stacker

I've changed them to Tiff and it still won't accept them

yes it will take JPEGS, and TIFFS, what is the error?

When the program loads up, click the top link which is Open picture files, select your images you wish to stack then usually after that all you have to do if you don't have darks, flats etc... is to check all, and then click register checked images, make sure stack after registering is ticked.

What resolution TIFF are you using? 8bit, 16bit, 32bit? That may have some effect although I dont see why.

I just found this info in the help file

Files and File Lists
DSS can't read my TIFF files and/or crash when trying to read TIFF files
DeepSkyStacker is only supporting uncompressed TIFF files or LZW and ZIP (Deflate) compressed files.
However, TIFF files come in many flavours and sometimes the decoding may go wrong especially while decoding EXIF information.
It is possible to disable EXIF decoding when reading TIFF files by adding the following registry key under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DeepSkyS tacker: SkipTIFFExifInfo (DWORD) with a value of 1.
