People in Australia have been pre-ordering on the Starlink website
https://www.starlink.com/ for the last couple of days. Confirmed local pricing is AU$709 for the hardware (plus AU$100 delivery), and AU$139 per month for a service with initial expected download speeds between 50 to 150 Mbps and latency typically between 20 to 40 milliseconds. You need to pay a deposit of AU$139 to get into the queue, with delivery anticipated in mid- to late-2021.
Note that there will be periods of no internet connectivity, but these should become less frequent and shorter in duration as the satellite constellation grows over the next couple of years.
Starlink is really targeted at remote / rural customers, and there will be limits on the number of subscriptions they can service in densely populated areas. The Starlink website says:
Starlink is available to a limited number of users per coverage area at this time. Orders will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis.
For New Zealand, the costs are NZ$159 a month and NZ$799 plus $114 shipping and handling
