Brisbane Lockdown

My son just rang me to tell me that all of Brisbane was locking down, due to the appearance of the UK variant of 'you know what'.
Hope everyone up there stays safe. I can imagine the scenes in Woolies this morning.

Well be kind, they have no experience in this area. I do question the wisdom of flagging a lockdown to commence at 6pm on Friday, early in the day, thus allowing a window for people to work up their anxiety and flee for a long weekend. There are plenty of long weekend options on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Hinterland etc. And how could they stop them anyhow?

I've got my 600 rolls of toilet paper, so I'll be right until at least Wednesday. Something's gone terribly wrong if I'm not.

It's damn annoying that they did not stop people leaving Brisbane. If the virus has actually escaped into the community, then they've probably just spread it to these locations too.

Lockdown is good and I hope it works.

If I were in other states, I'd treat all of Qld as a hotspot now.

Luckily heavy rain, flooded roads and swarms of mossies discouraged mass migration from taking northerly direction. Word has it the mob is rushing towards Canberra
