Sirius 2.3 Meter Observatory: Auction: Start Price $300 No Reserve

I am selling an old Sirius Observatory and have no idea what its worth.
So I thought the best way is to run an auction for the next 10 days.
That way you will know its yours as a Xmas present.

I Will accept bids in minimum $50 amounts.
I will announce the highest bid amount around 8.00pm every day.
EG: Highest bids 2 x Bids at $450
The auction will end at (8.00 PM) on Tuesday 22nd December.
In order to make it a fair process for all, I will not accept any bids after that time unless there are more then one highest bids.
If there is more then one highest bid, I will PM each highest bidder to invite another bid.
This process will continue until we have only one highest bid.
Please be available at this time to respond or you will miss out.
The highest bidder will own the Observatory.

The fibre glass walls and dome are in quite good condition, no cracks, some scratch and scuff marks here and there. Also a bit of grafiti painted on the inside walls easy to paint out. Some rust on the door handle. All the rollers and seals need replacing and I have attached a quote from the Sirius Observatory supplier, Ogden Observatories Pty Ltd to replace all of those items. $614.90

You will need to hire or bring an 8 x 4 caged trailer or a small removal truck to pick it up.
It is located in the Mudgee region about 3.5 hour drive from Sydney or Newcastle.

Good Luck with your bids, may the keenest astronomer win.

Regards
Gerry Aarts

Hello I am interested in your dome. Just wondering why the dome looks so aged? Has Graffiti? Especially if the invoice is dated the 6th of May 2020?

Just a bit of history on the Observatory. It was located at the Western Sydney University Observatory for years. At some point the kiddies got to it with a can of paint, very easy to spray paint away the graffiti. . After I finished up with it at my Mudgee property I did not set it up, I already had a roll off roof Observatory. The Invoice is actually a a recent quote, I had intentions to refurbish it but now have other plans. It's an old observatory but with no severe damage or cracks. It will do up just fine. The marks and scratches are only superficial and will not be an issue in making this a good, functional home observatory.

Hi,

I am currently in Mudgee at the moment. Are you willing to split the pier from the actual observatory?
