A "Wot Tha" one. - password funny business

I have a question re passwords.

I've just experienced a rather strange situation. I was unable to log into my yahoo mail, no matter how many times I tried I kept getting the security page coming up to request pass word. I thought at first yahoo might have been down or that I was getting a phishing page, no to both. I rang my wife at work and asked her to access my email and she had no problem. Yahoo messenger seemed to be able to log in fine.

Then I thought I'd try my computer down stairs. No go, couldn't access the email. Then I thought I'd post a question here. Now this is where it really gets bizzare. I couldn't log into Iceinspace. So I thought I'd try to skype someone from here from techi support. Couldn't log into Skype I'm thinking what the hell is going on here. Not being really up with this sort of security stuff I wondered "hell am I being hacked here?" You know typical paranoia. I decided to run my antivirus incase I picked up something, check my firewalls etc and everything seemed to be fine.

In the mean time I thought to disable my wireless connection and then reconnect. Everything works like a dream now.

Can anyone enlighten me on what the hell happened there? I could access any web page I wanted to unless it required me to enter a username and password first.

if you have auto ip addressing maybe the ip address was changed and the anti whatever software didnt pick up on it and blocked everything. If not then Dennis did it sucking too many saturn photons unbalancing the universe

It's a bit of a wierd one that's for sure h0ughy. But your right, if Dennis is going to keep pulling out those Saturn shots then he definately deserves the blame .

I don't know about you geoff but I was almost at the stage of running around in circles pulling my hair out. I'd already used all the expletives I knew and was trying to make up ones. It just didn't make sense to my little overtaxed brain.

yes - put me in a spin too
madly checking my personal computers and our mail and web servers for spyware and viruses without finding much

had me beat till datafast sent notification of a problem they were having
and i'm still not sure that that was what caused it
i just couldn't log on to iceinspace or ebay and my hotmail email account was not working

geoff

If it happens again try cleaning out your cookie jar.
This is the most common cause of these types of failures.
