Mars on Catalyst this Thursday

This weeks Catalyst on the ABC is about Mars. Could be worth a look at.

Sounds Interesting ... There was a good story in the Bintel newsletter in March about water ice near the martian equator.

It was a great show !
I watched it with my 6 yo son & it even managed to hold his attention for 1/2 hr

It was great to see the very latest on the Ice floes, only 10deg from the martian equator !
the chances of liquid underground water are increasing all the time.
And as we all know, where there is liquid water, there is a high potential for life
Microbial life most likely, but even that would be a stunning breakthrough.

Being a groundwater hydrologist...........I'm sitting by my phone waiting for the call from NASA right now

Might have to make some changes to existing groundwater modelling codes (to accout for curvature of the globe if they want the whole thing modelled at once), but hey - WHAT A FIELD TRIP???

Enjoyed the show also!

Well your a good little astronomer Mike, outside with a scope
You would have to be inspired to image Jupiter after seeing "Birds" great work.
There is a Video clip on the ABC website, albeit an abridged version of the Mars Documentary:

http://www.abc.net.au/catalyst/watch/default.htm

This may prove to be one of the greatest discoveries yet
