Jupiter 14th March 2007 sneak peek

Oh boy, in the immortal words of Big Kev: "I'm excited!!!"

Starting to process image data from this morning, had the best seeing I've ever experienced for about 90 minutes.

Here's a rough and ready, red-channel only image. It's going to take longer to produce a final image, so this is a "sneak peek".

50 seconds of R data using LEXX.

Notice Io partway through it's transit.

cheers, Bird

Nice, Anthony.

Loads of detail and terrific dynamic range.

Looking forward to the final image

Great stuff Anthony, very very smooth and so detailed. Is that resampled?
I can't wait to see more.

no Mike, not resampled. I'm working on a 150% resampled version now with a few extra bells an whistles enabled.

Love the image scale.

I tried an extension tube this morning but there was too much flex and the light didn't reach the CCD as a result

Is this for real? Or are you guys just pulling Hubble images off a web site somewhere? Well done, Anthony.

Cheers,

Brian.
