One must admit to being wrong and congratulate the winner

.
Last week I said we would get our desalinators, but no news of it last week at all from what I could gather

. The ads pointed that way

.
But today I heard on the news an obscure snippet that tenders are being called for, to tender for the construction of the desalinator at Kurnel

. So I was wrong no desalinator announcement last week

so congratulations Sydney Water Rate payers it must be nice to have a $1,500,000,000-00 desalinator in the wings

.
With user pays I doubt that the rest of the State of New South Wales will have to contribute and if you do the sums water really won’t become that expensive and at least there will be a non Government body to supply it if they follow the user pay system to its ideological conclusion

.
I can’t wait to see what the various folk putting in tenders are each going to use as power supply for their respective plants

. The only system I really have had a look at was in Israel somewhere

(I forgot to add it to my favorites so I can’t link it

sorry) it was rather exciting as they used diesel motors to run theirs so maybe it won’t be nuclear after all

. Just some more carbon it the air which we are doing something about anyways

.
Mr Diesel invented his motor to run on canola oil

not the nasty stuff so that could be a good idea.
I wonder how many rain water tanks that much money would buy? I must find out what the current price of a 10,000litre tank and how many a billion and a half will only get, and see how much money we can save with the desalinator plant

…. rather than just criticizing the idea I should get behind it and move into the future as they say

.
It’s just that a billion and a half for water seems a lot but it’s not that much when you think of all the rate payers and they get more from commercial premises so it should all work out. So one has to be positive and expect a happy outcome and that is what one gets

.
I am in Sydney now so how views can change. And to at least include something on astronomy I report its clear here and although maybe light polluted it is not cloudy like up home, so its out with eq6,150sn and 80x400 for some fun
