That is awesome...

2 years... that's pretty fast for Defence...

Sadly, when I served at the Joint Defence Facility in Woomera in the mid 90's I wasn't really in to Astronomy & I didn't even know there was an observatory/telescope up there.

Talk about missed opportunities, having always had a fascination with the night sky but, not owning a telescope in those days, I always used to look up at the night sky there in Woomera & marvel at how they were the darkest skies I had ever seen, second only to my experiences out at sea...

Good to hear they are still going & that Defence has replaced the scope...

Thanks for sharing Ken, nice to see some good news for a change eh...
