program installation problem/fix

In the past I have had problems installing some programs, I was getting a message along the lines of "16 bit windows subsystem C;\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. This system file is not suitable for running Ms-dos and microsoft windows applications, choose close to terminate the application.
Got to admit this one had me totally whacked, and apparently it is quite common.
Well I found the fix for those that may have experienced the problem.

It`s a great relief when one find`s a "fix it" for the pc. You said you found the fix it but did it fix the problem for you.?
