Alpine Valley

My last image from this morning's session.

On par with an image taken October last year:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnkaz...in/set-952112/

Would say this morning's image is smoother but due to illumination the Alpine Valley is not visible any more.

3 alignment points and 270 frames used in Registax 4, then in AstraImage and Photoshop.

Excellent image John - very nicely resolved right down to the small craters straddling the thin, sinuous rille running down the centre of the Alpine Valley.

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

The seeing is normally so average in Melbourne (just like the weather!) so took full advantage. Best 1 hour imaging session I have ever had!

Terrific John!

Looks 3D on my CRT screen

How wide is the Valley at its widest point?

G'day Ken, Virtual Moon Atlas says 700 meters. Amazing we can see it from Earth.
