Guiding cables?

Is there anywhere in Australia to buy the cable I need to Autoguide my EQ6 mount?
I know they can be purchased from Shoestring in America, but I prefer to buy local.
Or anyone got a spare one they are happy to sell.

I need the cable from the pooter (parallel port) to the EQ6 guide socket. I think it has an interface in the line, which means 2 cables are involved

As far as I know, the other cable from the guiding Toucam to the lappy is just a USB cable. Am I right?

Ken I don't know if there is a local supply of the parallel cable or not. If you are autoguiding with a toucam, you need the parallel port for that, (long exposure) and the usb feed for the toucam data. The Guiding takes place with a serial cable from the PC to the hand Controller. You might need to purchase a serial/USB converter, ex Jacar or similar.
HTH,
Doug

Ken,

This is what I use from the computer to the guide port of the EQ6 and Losmandy Gemini.

If this is what you want let me know how much you want to pay and I will put it in express overnight bag and send it to you.

Gee thanks Tony, but I'm not sure what I need. All I can tell from the Shoestring website is that theirs has an interface built into the line.

If yours guides the EQ6 using Guidedog, I could be interested.

Dangerous thing asking how much I'm willing to pay. $1.50 sound good?

Doug, I will be using a standard Toucam for guiding, not a modified one.

Just found out from Tony that he sold his shoestring Guiding cable, so I am still looking for one.

I need the one from the laptop to the Autoguide port on an EQ6 GoTo Mount. It has an Interface in the line.

The one with the parallel port or the USB connection should work.

Pleeeeeez!
