A good friend of mine even detoured to meet him in the late 80's while on a US tour and had great stories of touring his facility and marvelling at some truly sexy gear wheels he had all over the place. Ed was a bit of a celebrity in the amateur telescope making fraternity and his drive gears were unanimously considered the very best available RIP
