These fires are insane, feels like half of Australia is burning. Hats off to all those affected and our brave as anything firefighters.

Edit - Just saw you said dust, not smoke. Would've thought that was smoke.

Definitely dust not smoke because it is covering the Illawarra at the moment with its brown haze. Can be seen moving up from the SW of the state in BOM satellite images and crossing the central parts of the state and out off the coast. How many tonnes of topsoil in this latest cloud I wonder.

Yep , cleared here about sunset and now is quite good transparency, is a bugger about the urban light pollution though.

Smoke haze and dust cleared by 8.30pm in Sydney’s south after the south west wind pushed through
Imaged NGC 1851 until 11pm and now imaging M42
Conditions are quite good , no wind and seeing is fair
More importantly, both my neighbours outside lights have been off all night ( a rare occurrence)
