Jupiter - March 2 - Canberra

To say the seeing this morning was "very ordinary" would be an understatement.

What a difference between this and my last Jupiter imaging session on Feb 23!!

Anyway, wanted to post this since it was was captured with my new (Astromart) 4x Powermate to give an idea of image scale.

There's still detail there in the white spots in the south polar region, the GRS, STrD-1, and some nice detail in the NEB.

Note also the red spot/s trailing along in the SEB in the wake of the GRS.

There are about another dozen AVIs from this morning, but I don't think there's anything much better. Will process anyway. You never know what's hiding in there

I think that's still a great shot, Matt. Great colour and some good definition.

Good scale too! Well done.

If the weather stays clear then I'll try again tonight and over the weekend, probably from the tiny backyard here in Jerrabomberra...

cheers, Bird

A nice image Matt, I think it is quite detailed.

Matt,

You may not be happy with the seeing BUT at least you had some to play with and it looks like you did

Cheers

ooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww, a 4x!!!!!!

yup, i reckon that is spot on for size. Joop still has some growing to do before opposition.

DO NOT TAKE THE 4X OUT OR THE SEEING WILL DETERIORATE. IT IS A STATE OF POSITIVE THINKING.

everything under your control seems great, just waiting for that great night of seeing. as mike says, still a great image!
