Jupiter + STrD-1 + Oval BA - 24th Feb

Hi all

Here's my latest image of Jupiter from the 24th Feb (local time), showing Jupiter with Oval BA + STrD-1.

There's also quite a bit of activity in the NEBn, and a red barge in the SEB below Oval BA. The red ring inside Oval BA is still present and very evident in the Green and Blue channels.

12" newt + EQ6, DMK21AF04 + 5x powermate, 30fps (1/30s exposure), 450 frames stacked in each channel.

Processed in Registax, AstraImage and Photoshop. Synthetic luminance layer created from the merged RGB channels.

Thanks for looking.

Great work Mike, looks like you are getting full value out of your new set up.

Would be great to hear more from you on the Synthetic luminance layer you create from the merged RGB channels and the benefits of this.

Hi Mike

Another terrific image of Jove. I'm still coming to terms with the increased image scale and more detail compared to your sets from last year. Fantastic work and 10 out of 10 for getting up at some godforsaken hour to take these – they are wonderful to look at, for us lazy sods!

Cheers

Dennis
