Recent purchases in Townsville?

Righto, I'm only starting out in this game, but I've learnt a bit already...
Rule#1: If you buy something nice astro-wise, bad weather ensues.

Last week, I received a nice EP from the IIS Classifieds. I expected a few clouds as just deserts.

But this is ridiculous. So my next question is: who in Townsville just recieved a 30" Dob with adaptive optics, mounted on fusion powered maglev bearings ???

No hard feelings, I just need to know

Thanks Carlton,
All is fine for us here. Some other suburbs are not doing so well sadly (evacs etc). They're going to (have already?) opened the dam gates a little more to relieve itself. Unfortunate news for some downstream. It hasn't rained since midday, but they expect another 200mm each night for the next few nights. The shops are all empty, as the road from down south is blocked (as always).

It's beyond Bogus.

Edit: As I write this, the rain resumes...

Cairns has had 907mm of rain since Jan 1, of which 120mm fell yesterday. Luckily, I had already decided to give up observing from January to the end of April, save for something remarkable happening.

I think Townsville has had over a metre of rain in the last 4 days. Andy & other IIS members in Townsville, I wish U well.
