Abell 13

This is my first of the year and it's another faint and obscure one, the planetary nebula Abell 13. It's large and faint and appears to contain very little OIII. Still scrubs up reasonably well though.

Fascinating...maybe revealing a bit more of the surrounding field would be interesting but given this puppy is not very big, also makes the result equally impressive.

Thanks Peter. Unfortunately I had major problems with the rest of the field so I decided to simplify things by cropping heavily.

Erythrocyte? Had to Google that one. Yes I see the resemblance to a red blood cell. Thanks for the comment. You certainly come up with some good ones Mike. I hope your missing AP1600 box turned up.

Thanks Marc. Actually it's magnitude 16 I think. I got the magnitude 19.87 figure from Wikipedia and I was pretty sceptical. Still pretty faint though. As planetaries go it's quite a big one at 2.5 arcminutes across.

Thanks Simon. Wouldn't have found it myself. I have a colleague in the UK who regularly feeds me these obscure targets.
