NGC 3324 revitalised

Hi,
Having recently upgraded my rig from a Skywatcher 150BDF5 and modded canon 650D camera to a Skywatcher 250BD F4 CF and Zwo filter wheel and Baader NB and LRGB filters and QHY 163m mono camera, i had to completely learn new processes.

I looked at many youtube videos and tried my hand at NB and processed this one in June using my best endeavours in Photoshop.

Gabriella's Minstrel i took in June this year using 20x120s Ha, 10x120s Oiii and 10x120s Sii filters. Applied darks and lights and stacked in DSS then processed in PS.

Recently i bought pixinsight and bought tutorials and watched Astrodude on Youtube. I went back and applied what i learnt and reprocessed NGC 3324.

you can see the difference. PI is so elaborate that i am sure i will never use all of its features. I finished off the fine detail sharpen in PS and added more vibrance.

Using the same data, I am really excited at the improvement, i hope you agree. I guess that good quality equipment and data is one thing, but half the battle is in the processing- that can mean the difference that i saw here.

I am yet to sort out a standard workflow. Only after i watch more tutorials and experiment further with my subs, i should sort out a standard routine to use.

I am sure that you all will have your favourite software and standard workflows that you apply when processing. It would be good to know what others use and how they apply the various tools.

I have attached two files, no need to say which was my first go.

Cheers

What a stark difference John. Well done. You've got to be happy with that.

Great image by the way too

Wow, that's quite a lot of detail! Very nice capture, and I like the editing and colors.
