Caps & Beanies

Hi all, this is a question which is probably more for Mike (Iceman). Does IIS have any official caps and beanies?
I think it would be a great way to spot fellow members at star parties and probably a good revenue raiser to keep IIS running along smoothly.

I would definitely buy one of each for starters and wear it with pride.

Cheers

Hi Ric.

A good idea, and one I've thought of in the past. It's definitely something i'll be giving some serious consideration to in the next few months, especially with Winter approaching (for the beanies!).

The embroidery on a cap or beanie might be expensive though, so I'd need to make sure there's enough interest in buying them.

I think they'd sell well, especially since a component of the price is to support IIS.

Must be someone passing here who has had something similar done and could suggest a best price supplier.. er maybe there is something on the net . still a "mate"in the business would be good. Make them special and functional, down to the toes balaclavas. But this is a good idea and it will be interesting to hear peoples ideas. Maybe a joint venture with a good sponsor and featuring a ICEINSPACE star party get together.

We had embroidered ones from our last 4WD club - and they only cost us (as members) around the $15.00. They were made from polarfleece.

My favourite observing season is autumn/winter, so I'm in for a couple at least.

I'm not with that club any more Mike - so I can't easily find out. I'll send an email to a previous member and see if he knows or remembers. All I remember was the final member price of $15.00 - which included a modest profit for the club. They weren't printed as such, but properly embroidered in two colours - red and white, on a black polarfleece material. Very nice.

I'll see if I get a response and let you know....

Ric - huh? It was mild last year and only made it down to -15 on one night. Hardly worth getting out the woolies!

Chris, if it's only -15 then that isn't too bad
you'll only have to worry about icicles dropping of the 12" and spearing you in the foot
on the other hand the viewing must be awesome

Cheers

I'd be game for a few...

If you need help sourcing let me know...while not in "that" business we do buy a fair amount of "logo" gear so I've got heaps of catalogs from vendors who do that sort of work...

Cheers!
