Ngc 7049

NGC 7049 is a lenticular galaxy and spans about 150 000 light-years across and lies about 100 million light-years away from Earth in the constellation of Indus. NGC 7049's unusual appearance is largely due to a prominent rope-like dust ring which stands out against the starlight behind it. These dust lanes are usually seen in young galaxies with active star-forming regions.

NGC 7041 is a lenticular galaxy located about 80 million light-years away.

This is my first Deep field galaxy image, the light power of the 6" is limiting.

GSO RC 6"
HEQ5 Pro Belt Mod
ZWO 1600mm LRGB
LUM 84 x 2min = 168min
RED 53 x 5min = 265min
GREEN 44 x 5min = 220min
BLUE 42 x 5min = 210min
Total time = 14.4hrs

Very very nice Ben. Always love images from that RC6. I'm going to miss it when you upgrade.

Thanks guys,

I would have like to get more detail from the fainter galaxies, but with my 6" that will be a challenge to do.
