Lagoon dslr and star tools.

I have been learning star tools processing narrow band stuff but yesterday decided to stack all my Lagoon data ( maybe 3 hours worth of 30 sec captures☺) and I have been working thru star tools to see if it was an improvement on past images.

I am reprocessing everything in an effort to learn star tools... still find photos shop handy as is GIMP.

I cant find my past images at the moment.
I have so much stuff now.
I dont know how others go but I end up with countless images pro cessed pre processed then a stack of all the processed...and I am deleting stuff but its amazing how much I have accumulated in not much over a year.

Anyways I submit my latest image.
Maybe 3 hours 30 sec 1600 iso nikon D5500 thru f5 8 inch.

my best narrow band effort???? but with the 80 mm and looking at it I think with star tools I can improve...I think I can see noise these days....the good thing about my situation is the only way is up.

Wow Alex! That’s a wonderful shot of the Lagoon - well done!
Startools have improved your final result out of sight.
Congrats

That first shot is magical Alex!
I find the colour balance across the entire image very pleasing to the eye

Thanks to all for the kind comments.
I hope that folk looking on are encouraged to have a go.
I am just a mug and yet with simple gear can produce something.
My tips are ...focus is key, let polar alignment dictate exposure times, and be out there all night every night that is clear.
Capture all night process all day☺.
The first capture was on a poorly aligned mount unguided.

I am working hard to get narrow band working for me...I have near a hundred "finals" of my 6 hours of prawn data but nothing that is exciting yet.
Thanks to everyone.
Alex
