starry night backyard

hi all

ive got an interesting little situation with starry night backyard and i was wondering if anyone else may have come across this one ?

it is this i tell it to do a search for venus and it tells me that it will rise today at about 0659 my time in the east(wa) which i know is a lot of rubbish cause i saw it go down this morning in the west so unless its a very fast traveler i know something isnt right

and yes everything else checks out like my location settings time zone ect ect .

i can tell it to find mars for example and its where it is in the morning sky.

any ideas any one ?

Are you sure you haven't got your planets crossed? Jupiter sets in the morning at the moment (~5:45am) - was it this you saw?

Quoting from May Aust Sky&Telescope (p54) - "Venus has been in conjunction with the Sun since early March, but will make a welcome return to the evening sky in late May". So it is indeed rising in the morning.

So maybe Starry Night got it right.
