Baader Sale

To raise funds for new bits:

21mm Baader Hyperion eyepiece. New and hardly used during an aborted foray into astrophotography, and not required by me visually! $180 posted to Aus.

2" Baader UHC-S Filter in v good condition. Brings out the fuzzy stuff especially in smaller apertures! $150 posted to Aus.

Get them now whilst it's still cloudy!

Hyperion eyepieces have a dual fitting 1.25"/2" base, so they'll slide straight into either size. However, the 1.25" part protrudes somewhat and may not suit some star diagonals.

Sale pending on the Hyperion Eyepiece

Still available: UHC-S 2" filter (a must for ED80's!)

New Baader addition (I forgot I had bought it too):

Hyperion DT Ring (SP54/M52) part number #2958052. Connects your Hyperion eyepiece to a 52mm thread - a common Filter thread size I am told. $25 posted in Aus (effectively Half price if my memory serves me right).

Pardon my ignorance, but how does the Baader UHC filter differ from the Astronomics UHC filter? (Or are they one and the same?)

Cheers,

Brian.

This is a UHC-S which is different to the UHC. The UHC-S is a broader filter in that it lets through more light - it's designed for those who find the narrow band filters too harsh, especially on smaller scopes.

Here's a good write-up: http://www.astrovid.com/technical_do...S%20filter.pdf

As for manufactures, they are all subtly different!
