M 83 ZWO ASI 071 Pro

Version 2, I did this object last year. So I decided to revisit and put in more data with my upgraded version of this camera.

Messier 83 also known as the Southern Pinwheel Galaxy is a barred spiral galaxy approximately 15 million light-years away in the constellation Hydra. It is one of the closest and brightest barred spiral galaxies in the sky, making it visible with binoculars.

That's quite deep and detailed, Ben. Not sure about the brownish halo though...

Quite a pretty image, however it's missing something. The red Ha knots in the spiral arms? Did you use a filter for this one?

Very nice resolution, but the colour isn't right--too brown. Shouldn't be hard to fix.

Hi cometcatcher.

No filter, for some reason the 071 Pro didn't catch enough data in the Ha.

Hi Geff

With all the processing, I couldn't get rid of the brown halo, so it isn't a quick fix.

But I'm looking at going mono very soon anyway.

Lovely star field, better than most astro images there. A lot of detail and nice and sharp.

Greg.
