Sold – Orion ED80 and Vixen GP and associated equipment

Hi All,

I have decided to part with this scope, I have mused over this for some time, even recently putting it up only to take it off again recently. This is a perfect little setup for someone who wants a nice wide field scope with nothing to add but some eyepieces…

So for the details, it’s a grey Orion ED80, in excellent condition, on an original Vixen GP mount. As you can expect it is relatively new with only a very light scratch on the ED80 tube where it rubbed against the tube ring bolt the first time I assembled it (I then realised and cut the bolt back). Absolutely perfect optically.

What you get:
Orion ED80
Vixen GP Mount
William Optic 2” Star Diagonal
Tube Rings
Vixen Dovetail
Orion Dovetail (for 8” SCT mounting)
Celestron Unit Pointer
Tripod x 2 – one aluminium, one wood
Case
Anti Vibe Pads (cheap ones, but they work)

Price: $900 or nearest offer

Note: this is big and heavy and not something worth shipping (i.e. local pickup), I live in the South of Sydney.

Any questions just ask,

Cheers

Michael

Some slight changes to the add, the dual axis drives and controller are no longer for sale (never were actually, my mistake). I have taken them off and adjusted the price accordingly.

How easy would it be to fit new drives & controller?

Hi All,

Well it looks like the pictures might have helped. This is now pending. I have an interested party on the entire setup and others interested in it for parts. So I think it will now sell.

And for Ballaratdragons, yes I tried to price these fairly and to sell. I have another scope in mind and the wife said enough is enough they have to go first. Both of them really are nice setups.

Cheers
