Hi all, I finally was able to do some imaging last Sunday after a break of some 2 months due to clouds and holidays.
The conditions were not the best, very hot and humid but I thought I'd have a go anyway to get my eye and skill level back into the swing of thins again and was pleasantly surprised with this one

NGC1566 in Dorado, mag = 9.4
30 images in lumnesence @ 21 seconds each.
Processed in MaximDL

Scope was in Alt/Az mode and tracking was with Sky Atlas Pro.
Camera was a DSI II Pro

21 sec... you've got far reaching spiral arms for such small individual exposures, good stuff Good to see I'm not the only one that takes a week or so to get an image processed

Hi Roger, I still working my way through the Maxim software with the manual close by , so theres still a lot of trial and error going on .

Thanks Phil, galaxies are one of my favourites as well.
It took me a while to stop burning out the cores but I'm getting the hang of it now.

I myself have not taken many photos of gal as the camera i use has a very wild field of view but i will take same soon i have taken alot of neb photos which i love taken photos of to.
