Faster ADSL"1"

I had never heard of a faster ADSL except for ADSL "2" but I got an email sent to me from IP provider saying new speeds and plans are available from the 10th January.

I have always been on ADSL 1500/256 as I cant get Cable nor can I get ADSL "2" yet.

But now they have ADSL "1" that is 8000/384 this is max speed.

Wahoo just downloaded a 4.5gig movie in 5 hours.....I'm happy.

I'm sure it has...I just hadn't heard of it.

Not a lot of people can get ADSL2 at the moment so I'm surprised this hasn't been promoted as much because all ADSL users can have this.

512 is still good Ving,

You only see the the real benifit with faster speed when downloading...otherwise some pages still take a while to load no matter what speed connection you have.

You will like your 512 considering you have been on ouch (Dial Up)

ADSL has always been available at faster speeds. Australian ISP's just capped it at slower speeds.

Sounds better than cable, especially for the upload speed.
I have Bigpond cable and upload is limited to 128 kbps.
Download speed is about 8 kbps - most of the time.

That doesn't surprise me Andrew.

Our speeds are still well behind many other countries.
