Sunglasses Please - Ha_SII_O3 NGC2070

Well I have finally collected enough data in narrowband to do a reasonable job on the tarantula. I have done this image in conjunction with a local university project who requested that I specifically map Ha to Red, SII to G and O3 to blue.

Taken with ES127CF refractor and QHY16200 camera.

The result is somewhat more fluro that I had anticipated but I have got used to it now

Nice one Ted

Surprised there’s not a little more contribution from green.

It looks great Ted
As for the colour mapping, it depends on how you did your colour calibration as to how it will look.

Given the strong purple it looks like Ha and OIII are being represented but there is very little SII showing. If you want to show relatively signal strengths then you’ve done that well, if you wanted to show all three channels then the green needs to be boosted as its pretty faint

Yes it is weak in SII as per Colin's comment

Thanks Colin. Yes the green's impact is minor but still seen within the orange sections. I left the relative contribution of each filter as they were captured and then just stretched the combined result. As to the linearity of that stretch, well probably iffy . The un-stretched RAW versions is what the University wants.

Quite sharp and very colourful, Ted. If it was an animal you'd assume it was venomous
